Blogging Facts:
- 89% of companies surveyed in a BlogWorldExpo survey said they think blogs will be more important in the next five years
- Blogs generally get as much (or more) traffic than corporate websites
- Over 57,000,000 Americans read blogs
- Companies that blog work the cost into their budget - even though the cost is negligible compared to the advantages of blogging
What blogging is:
- Blogging is a way to share more information, more often. It doesn't matter who you are, if you've got something to share, a blog is a greate place to do it. A blog lets you organize posts with categories and tags so that newcomers can catch up quickly and join your conversation.
- Blogging is a way to have multiple conversations with multiple audiences at the same time. Talk to prospects and customers at the same time and address their unique needs.
- Blogging is a way to give your business a voice. A blog is no place for stuffy five-syllable words. It's a place for, openess and out-and-out human interaction.
What blogging is not:
- Blogging is not branding experience. Blogs are a chance to connect on a human level (even if not in person). You can't 'walk' into a blog waving your company flag, singing your company's mission statement to the tune of "We are the Champions."
- Blogging is not a place to be thin-skinned. If you think everybody's going to love you, you've been watching too much Jerry Maguire. You'll have fans, but also those who disagree with you. It's a conversation, talk to these people and address their comments.
- Blogging is not about you. It's about the people who read your blog. Customers, the media, potential customers, your competition - yes your compeition will read your blog - and anyone else who happens to land on your blog.
